BUILDING SELF-ESTEEM
ACADEMY OVERVIEW
There is no time like the present to take responsibility to live with healthy self-esteem in order to cope with the endless demands that challenge our well-being in South Africa today. We are aware that in order for people to lead happy and fulfilled lives, it is essential that their self-esteem be consciously addressed. Building Self-Esteem is an organisation that has been successfully addressing this vital need through workshops, training and personal facilitation for the past 28 years.
Starting in 2015 we are offering the following two innovative, interactive and creative programme options:
A. My Self-Esteem:
a 1-year programme comprises two modules focussing on exploring and building your own self-esteem.
Module 1 – Adult self-esteem
- To understand the unique Building Self-Esteem Model and how it applies to our every-day life.
- To emerge powerfully, taking responsibility to live assertively with yourself and others in your every-day life.
- To acquire and integrate tools to assist this process.
- To understand current thinking and to choose more beneficial thinking.
Students will be required to complete a written assessment, a research presentation and a portfolio of evidence.
Module 2 – The evolution of self-esteem from childhood
- To reflect on your own childhood experiences and understand the impact of these on your self-esteem.
- To heal your past through hearing and comforting the “”.
- To trace children’s chronological development, thereby understanding the self-esteem needs of children.
- To gain insight into raising children with healthy self-esteem.
Students will be required to complete group research, a presentation and a portfolio of evidence.
a 2-year programme comprises the first two modules, as above, followed by a further 2 modules. These modules focus on the knowledge and skills required to qualify as a self-esteem facilitator.
Module 3 – Basic facilitation skills
- Having addressed your own level of self-esteem, you will now focus on acquiring the knowledge and skills to effectively assist our fellow human beings to grow and thrive.
- To appreciate that you will be exposed to the intimate lives of others and that at all times, the information revealed in the facilitation room will be kept strictly confidential.
- To acquire a set of counselling skills upon which you will expand when you progress to the Self-Esteem Facilitation Module.
Students will be required to complete a practical assessment, a research assessment and a professional development assessment.
Module 4 – Self-esteem facilitation
- To assimilate all the knowledge you have acquired over the first three modules and apply it to facilitating the development of self-esteem and emotional growth in clients
- To learn how to apply creative tools which enhance the facilitation process
- To undertake always to work with clients with professionalism, respect, integrity and dignity
Students will be required to complete practical assessments.
B. Self-Esteem Facilitation:
Course information
Each module will be completed within six months, with sessions every Wednesday evening from 17h30 to 20h30. Your competency will be assessed at the end of each module through practical and theoretical assignments.
You will receive certification based on competently meeting the requirements of all modules. You will also be required to attend 90 % of all sessions throughout all four modules.
The training timetable will be structured so as to take into account public holidays.
The cost per module is R11,250.00. A registration deposit of R2,250.00 is required at the commencement of every module.
Five monthly instalments of R1,800.00 must be paid by the 25th of each month. If the module fee is paid up front, there will be a 6 % discount allowed, making the cost per module R10,575.00.
A comprehensive, unique, insightful and practical working manual will be provided for each module.
Please submit with your enrolment form, a one-page personal reflection motivating your inclusion in this training programme and complete the attached enrolment form to register for Module 1 beginning February 2015.
The completed form needs to be returned to at celiacob@mweb.co.za or faxed to 011 463 7721 between 08h00 and 12h30 (Monday to Friday) by 15 November 2014.
