OUR SERVICES

“How we feel about ourselves effects virtually every aspect of our experience, from the way we function at work, in love, in sex, to the way we operate as parents, to how high in life we are likely to rise. Our responses to events are shaped by who and what we think we are. The dramas of our lives are the reflections of our most private visions of ourselves. Thus self-esteem is the key to success or failure. It is also the key to understanding ourselves and others.”

Schools

Schools are a microcosm of society and play a large role in the development of our children. Building Self-Esteem recognizes that unless all role players become actively involved in the education and raising of our children, these same children will not reach their full potential.  We have therefore put together a series of interactive workshops specifically geared to the self-esteem needs of each of these role players- the teacher, the parent and the child.

The workshops begin with an Introduction to self-esteem and the benefits of healthy self-esteem as well as the behavior changes that occur with healthy self-esteem.

Through a series of additional modules we cover topics such as, the origins of our self-esteem, changing limiting beliefs, coming to understand our competencies and deservedness, living and communicating assertively, dealing effectively with our feelings, living a balanced life, and living with values.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Since its inception Building Self-Esteem has always given back to the community. Some of these projects include the Correctional Facility in Johannesburg and the Parents of Children with Speech Impediments at Baragwaneth Hospital.

Speech and Audio Clinic - Baragwanath Hospital

The Speech and Audio Clinic at Baragwanath Hospital has incorporated a workshop to assist parents who have children with audio and speech challenges. They have seen the imperative need to boost their own self-esteem and the self-esteem of those in their care.

Corectional Services

Celia, and her trained colleagues have been working at the Johannesburg Correctional Centre for the past 18 years. Over the years, participants have given personal testimonies of how the programme has made a difference to their perspective of themselves and will inevitably contribute to their ability to re-adapt to life on their release.
